Lifeventure: Introduction

Preface

English: Old Wheel Farm ... This Way Please an...

I’m going to do a series of reminiscing posts and such. My Devotional posts and Picture posts are at a different blog so if you’re wondering why I’m not posting my Daily Devs anymore, now you know 😀

Anyway, I decided to create a series just so I can vent out any emotions hidden inside of me, or just I could clear my mind up for things that are more important. Also when the day comes that I don’t have the capacity to remember these things because of all the things I’m doing in my life, It would be a shame not to be able to tell future relationships about the things I think of today.

your face, my place

It’s slightly weird that I’m typing this while I’m chatting with someone, I feel like my life’s been full of “multi-tasking” lately and that I really don’t have focus on things that would benefit me. It’s not that I’m stagnant or anything but I can be more productive than what I’m doing these days. Hopefully this blogging will help me gain conscious awareness or help me focus on some things and also clear up my mind about things. I keep saying things instead of ideas, that intrigues me. Hahah.

Honestly to tell you (reader) I don’t really know what a Preface is, I just

mijn "Tent"

like to call this that, hopefully this is right. What to do next, How to do it, Why do I have to do it. Questions that linger in my head as I type this words, we’re getting deeper into the jungle that we call James’s Psyche. Hahah! Just kidding, this blog will be as light as a feather, though at times it may seem deep but mainly I want to talk about the fun stuff that happened to me, as much as possible, but I am expecting some drama along with inspiring thoughts as well, and I’m quite excited to be documenting my school life this coming school year. Because I’m heading a guild, it’s called CIA-Guild (Christ is the Answer-Guild) And I have a lot planned, hopefully with the anointing of God I may be used as an instrument for His glory.

So, basically this series is going to be about my childhood up until to where I am now, don’t worry though, I won’t be referring to previous posts to save new readers some read time. I’ll try and make each individual posts stand on its own so it can be read as it is.

Hopefully this excitement won’t die out as the days go by. God Bless you all :D.

Got School? Teen Devotion

Got School?

“Of making many books there is no end, and much study wearies the body. Now all has been heard; here is the conclusion of the matter: Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the whole duty of man.” (Ecclesiastes 12:12-13)

School is back in session! (No kidding Lane, thank you so much for bringing up such a painful subject. While you’re at it, why don’t you give me a nice paper cut, and pour lemon juice on it?)

School is ultimately about being educated…but don’t forget to keep the main thing the main thing. Try grading yourself with the list below, and see how well you are being schooled.

  • If I learn my ABCs, can read 600 words per minute, and can write with perfect penmanship, but have not been shown how to communicate with the Designer of all language, I have not been educated.
  • If I can deliver an eloquent speech and persuade you with my stunning logic, but have not been instructed in God’s wisdom, I have not been educated.
  • If I have read Shakespeare and John Locke and can discuss their writings with keen insight, but have not read the greatest of all books – the Bible – and have no knowledge of its personal importance, I have not been educated.
  • If I have memorized addition facts, multiplication tables, and chemical formulas, but have never been disciplined to hide God’s Word in my heart, I have not been educated.
  • If I can explain the law of gravity and Einstein’s theory of relativity, but have never been instructed in the unchangeable laws of the One Who orders our universe, I have not been educated.
  • If I can classify animals by their family, genus and species, and can write a lengthy scientific paper that wins an award, but have not been introduced to the Maker’s purpose for all creation, I have not been educated.
  • If I can recite the Gettysburg Address and the Preamble to the Constitution, but have not been informed of the hand of God in the history of our country, I have not been educated.
  • If I can play the piano, the violin, six other instruments, and can write music that moves men to tears, but have not been taught to listen to the Director of the universe and worship him, I have not been educated.
  • If I can run cross-country races, star in basketball, and do 100 push-ups without stopping, but have never been shown how to bend my spirit to do God’s will, I have not been educated.
  • If I can identify a Picasso, describe the style of da Vinci, and even paint a portrait that earns an A+, but have not learned that all harmony and beauty comes from a relationship with God, I have not been educated.
  • If I graduate with a perfect 4.0 and am accepted at the best university with a full scholarship, but have not been guided into a career of God’s choosing for me, I have not been educated.
  • If I become a good citizen, voting at each election and fighting for what is moral and right, but have not been told of the sinfulness of mankind and our hopelessness without Christ, I have not been educated.

However…

If one day I see the world as God sees it, and come to know Him, Whom to know is life eternal, and glorify God by fulfilling His purpose for me-

Then, I have been educated!

Questions:

  1. How well am I truly being ‘educated’?
  2. If Christ came back today, would He recognize you? Why or why not?
  3. Which area(s) of my ‘education’ do I need to work on the most?

Got Prophecy? Teen Devotion

Got Prophecy?

We did not follow cleverly invented stories when we told you about the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but we were eyewitnesses of His majesty. (II Peter 1:16)

There are well over 300 fulfilled prophecies concerning Jesus Christ in the Old Testament. According to author Lee Strobel, the statistical probabilities of just 49 of these prophecies to be actually fulfilled is 1 x 10157. That’s one out of 10 with one hundred fifty seven zeroes! That is the same statistical chance of a blind man randomly picking a pre-marked molecule after wandering a trillion, trillion, trillion, trillion billion universes!

When you do the math on the prophecies that have already been fulfilled, it’s impossible to honestly walk away from the Scriptures believing that it was random chance. In fact, I believe it takes more faith to deny Jesus Christ than to accept Him and His claims. Why? Check this out: Unlike ancient foretellers and modern “psychics”, God‘s standard for fulfilled prophecy is 100%.

“You may say to yourselves, ‘How can we know when a message has not been spoken by the LORD?’ If what a prophet proclaims in the name of the LORD does not take place or come true, that is a message the LORD has not spoken.” Deuteronomy 18:21-22

If you missed even one prediction, you were a false prophet. If you were a false prophet, you were put to death. Think about that for a moment. If the “forecasters” on the psychic phone networks out there lived in Old Testament times, they would have had a very short career span (as well as life span). Yet some people today put more stock in those freakshows than they do the Word of God!

As for Christians, we have people like Daniel on our “psychic hotline”- remember the story of Daniel and the bad kitties? Anyway, he did much more than avoid being Lion Chow. For example, five hundred years before Christ even lived; Daniel predicted the demise of the Babylonian Kingdom, the rise of the Persian, Grecian and Roman kingdoms. He also predicted accurately the rise and fall of Alexander the Great and the four generals that would take over after his death.

Kinda sends a chill down my spine!

Daniel even foretold precisely the time of Christ’s death in Daniel 9:25-26. We could on and on, but the point is that your faith in the Bible being God’s Word is no leap in the dark. In fact, the Bible backs up its claims far better than any other religious text.

So don’t be intimidated by those around you who chatter against God’s Word. They have no idea what they are talking about, and truth is on your side. When you do the math, it is crystal clear that the Word of God stands head and shoulders above every other book ever written. It is, without a doubt, the book of books.

Also, don’t be afraid to completely trust the words of Scripture. It is God’s message to the world, and following its truth is the only hope of life in the universe.

Questions:

Why do most unbelievers refuse to do the math?

What are some ways you can defend your faith more effectively?

Why do some Christians doubt God’s Word?

What do you need to do to study God’s Word on a regular basis?

God has truly set a plan for everyone. This morning my mom and I spent 2 hours in talking about the gospel, me sharing to her about Jesus and what He is all about and what we should all be about in line with God’s desire that’s noted in the Bible. There’s is non like Jesus. God Bless you all 🙂

If I were the Devil « Pastor Mike Says

“I would compel people to express their most depraved fantasies on canvas and movie screens, and I would call it art”

via If I were the Devil « Pastor Mike Says.

This is just a line that struck me when I read Pastor’s post. Somethings been really bothering about Lady Gaga’s “freedom” fight. I’m all for freedom, but I think she’s going a little too overboard with it. In my mind “it’s really just how the fashion industry works, it’s just how pop culture works- it’ll pass.” But on the other hand “history repeats itself”. That’s why we even believe of Christs great comeback and of course because it is written in the Scriptures.

I don’t expect everyone to crawl under their desks and start reading the bible panicking that God is someone to be greatly feared, God’s proven his Love and Mercy, none can compare to it, it’s fair to say that we humans are

the one’s who should be greatly fearing each other, feeding each other lies and covering up our motives with “peace”. Well I don’t know, I am nothing without Christ. I just always tell myself that.

It just is weird, to me, personally I never liked the idea of short-short (to the nth power) skirts, that you couldn’t even barely say it’s clothes, like in my earlier post I said “What happened to all the thread? Are we in some kind of Cloth Crisis?” Being a guy, it makes it very challenging, the devil is smart but God always prevails and I believe that He has purpose in things, I may not be able to convert anyone soon or I’d even get hated for me not being a big fan Lady Gaga. But that’s how I see it, how about you?
